Humid!

Good morning everyone or afternoon, I guess depends on when you read this. Kind of a humid dull day out today but at least it isn't presently raining.

Birthday party was a success! My adorable little grandson had a good time at his party I think, was in good spirits, well that could of been the pop. His birthday cake was great, done as a train with all the fixings, very cute, job well done by my daughter. It was really nice to see my three children all in the same house, trust me that doesn't happen very often, can't remember the last time it did happen. Obviously they don't get along, and haven't since probably they were teens. Someday they will realize family is very important and your siblings can be your best friends if you let them. Life is too short to hold grudges regardless of the origins, and like I always say, "you will miss me when I am gone." This very much applies to them and each other, we only get one shot at life, why not make it a happy one.

Had a shower finally, gas company finally came yesterday at 3, great technician, he should be working for a better company. All fixed up, and was able to have a wonderful hot shower 20 minutes later, sure take things for granted until they are gone. Had to go and purchase a de-humidifier last night to help with the dampness in our 100 year old basement as per his recommendation. Wow, they are a bit more expensive than I would of thought, but if it helps and prevents future issues it will be worth it.

Unable to do any link building today, the site I usually work on is temporarily down so I have been catching up on things around the house. How do two people always have so much laundry? I think I do laundry everyday, someone must be dropping theirs off too.

Let me continue on with my story of my grandson's birthday party. He had decorations everywhere and a table full of finger foods, perfect for little people who like small nibbles. And it was great to see family and friends. The little monster got tons of toys, spoiled, and was completely running on orange soda at full tilt. We continued on to a great BBQ with all the fixings, lots of food, they will be eating leftovers for a while. And the weather was nice enough to be outside, a bit humid but was still nice. I always feel sorry for the other little people when they don't understand where their presents are and how come they don't get any. My little grand daughter really wanted to be right in there with the gift opening and it always makes me sad to watch them. But it is her birthday next month and the roles will be reversed and I will be feeling bad for the other one. Kids are just so cute, even when they are hopped up on sugar and pop, if we could only bottle up some of that energy we all could run around and act insane. My little grand daughter at one point was putting on a dance routine, she is so cute demonish but cute, had herself an audience so she had to entertain. One of our nieces was there and they became instant friends, which was nice, they both had a little girl to play with instead of all boys. Picked some lovely flowers out back and handed them out to everyone. So simple the times of being young. All in all I think it was a success and I am sure my daughter is good and tired today from all the prep and then the clean up. Thanks for having us, love sharing these moments!

Next month is back to school time for all the little hell raisers of the neighborhood, thank goodness, keep them locked up for at least part of the day. My little grandson will be one of those big boys, I think he is excited, well as far as he understands. And grandma is nervous for him, he still is just a monster baby to me, undecided if I am going with him on his first day, he has asked me to, but thinking it might be a bit too emotional for me. Isn't that silly, but all I can think is this is the beginning of his adventure in being a big boy and he really isn't going to want his grandma as much, selfish right? I won't be able to whisk him away for days and return him when I am worn out anymore, he now will have somewhere that he has to be. And then will be the friends, why would he want to hang out with us when he has friends to hang out with, which is great, but I am already jealous. Maybe I will have to convince my grand daughter to come and have sleep overs and play with grandma, like that is going to happen! Will have to see about bribing her with something :) the little brown eyed demon that she is. I guess I have to wait and see and not get myself already bent out of shape wondering about the what-ifs.

The link site is finally up and working so I guess I should pretend that I am working really hard at it.
